SELF TANNING MOUSSE

Self-tanning, antioxidant and hydrating mousse with a delicate fragrance.

• ERYTHRULOSE
  It's a ketose-based sugar that, by reacting with the amino acids and proteins contained in keratin, causes the cells of the stratum corneum of the epidermis to darken. This non-toxic reaction causes a darkening of the skin, similar to the Maillard reaction. Because it doesn't penetrate deeply and remains on the surface, it doesn't cause side effects. It's best used in combination with DHA, as used alone, it tends to impart a reddish tinge. The tan it imparts to the skin isn't permanent, as it is constantly removed by the normal turnover of corneocytes.
• DHA
  It is the main component of self-tanning products. It works by binding to proteins in the stratum corneum and, through the Maillard reaction, forming yellow or brown complexes. To achieve an amber color, we used DHA in combination with erythrulose, as the former gives a yellowish tint and the latter makes the skin reddish. Therefore, the combination of the two compounds allows for an optimal, natural-looking color. It's important to note that the resulting pigmentation is not a true tan, as melanin is not involved in any way in the process: the tan cannot be removed except through the natural renewal of the superficial layers of the skin.
• EMBLICA
  This tree, native to India, is used primarily for its high vitamin C content. It is also used for its antioxidant properties, counteracting the action of free radicals and combating oxidative stress because, in addition to vitamin C, it contains tannins, flavonoids, and other polyphenols derived from curcumin (gallic and ellagic acid), as well as B vitamins, calcium, iron, and manganese. It is used for its depigmenting properties, lightening dark spots caused by sun exposure, soothing inflammation, and having an anti-aging effect.
• ALOE
  Thanks to its functional ingredients, it guarantees a uniform, intense and long-lasting tan, leaving the skin soft and hydrated.
